


The story of Hwa Heng Beef Noodle began in 1948.
After World War II, Singapore was rebuilding, and people were looking for comfort, warmth and hope in simple things like a humble bowl of noodles.
On Bain Street, with nothing more than a small pushcart and a big soup pot, Mr. Kiang Teck Huan started what would become a 70 over year journey. Every morning before dawn, he would put beef bones into the pot and let them simmer slowly over a low fire. The result was a soup that looked clear but tasted deep and rich. To go with it, he created a special sauce using spices and soy sauce, slightly sweet with a nutty aroma, perfectly matching the freshness of the beef and the richness of the broth.
In 1974, the nameless roadside stall moved to Wah Hing Coffee Shop, located opposite the Odeon Cinema on North Bridge Road. Regular customers began calling it “Odeon Beef Noodle” because of its location. From this nickname, the brand gradually evolved into the name we know today: Hwa Heng Beef Noodle.

To share this old, familiar flavour with more communities, we introduced a halal version in 2025; Hai Ge Ji Beef Noodle (HGJ).
From ingredient selection to preparation and cooking, every step follows strict standards. Yet, we always stay true to the same core: the soup, the sauce, and the quality of the ingredients. Whether you enjoy it dry with sauce or in a bowl of hot soup, whether it is halal or the original recipe, what customers taste is the same Hwa Heng spirit. Honest, consistent and dependable.

Hwa Heng is not just a craft. It is also a part of Singapore’s memory.

strengthen our supply chain and store operations,
enhance product consistency, warm service and dining comfort,
and, while keeping our classic beef noodle, explore lighter, more youthful and more international ways to enjoy Hwa Heng.
No matter how times change, one thing will never change: our belief that what truly touches people’s hearts is a simple, steaming hot bowl of noodles made with care.

华兴牛肉粉的故事始于1948年。战后新加坡百废待兴,先辈以最朴素的方式起家:一辆小推车、一口大汤锅。日复一日于培英街(Bain Street)起早摸黑,牛骨下锅,小火慢熬,汤色清亮而厚实;以多味香料与酱油调成的酱汁,入口微甜带坚果香,与牛肉的鲜、汤底的醇相得益彰。
1974年,小摊从无名路边摊迁入位于北桥路、欧德安戏院(Odeon Cinema)对面的「华兴咖啡店」(Wah Hing Coffee Shop)。自此,“无名摊”因地得名,称为「Odeon Beef Noodle」,后来便有了今天的「华兴牛肉粉(Hwa Heng Beef Noodle)」之名。
饮食是文化,也是桥梁。为让更多族群共享这份老味道,近年推出清真版本海哥记牛肉面,在选材、处理与流程上严守规范,同时守住“汤、酱、料”的核心风味。无论干拌或汤面、无论清真或传统,食客尝到的,都是华兴一以贯之的诚实与稳妥。
